Frequently Asked Questions
Can cracked countertops be repaired?
Small chips in granite or quartz can sometimes be filled with color-matched epoxy. However, structural cracks, widespread damage, or severely stained laminate countertops are better replaced. Repairs are usually temporary and may be visible, while replacement gives you a fresh, warranted surface.
How much do new countertops cost in NJ?
Contact us for a free consultation and pricing on specific options. For a typical kitchen (30-40 sq ft), costs vary depending on material choice.
What is the most durable countertop material?
Quartz is the most durable option - it's non-porous, scratch-resistant, doesn't require sealing, and resists stains and bacteria. Granite is also very durable but requires annual sealing. Quartzite (natural stone) is extremely hard but expensive. For families with heavy kitchen use, quartz offers the best durability-to-maintenance ratio.
How long does countertop replacement take?
The process typically takes 2-3 weeks total: measurement and templating (1 visit), fabrication (1-2 weeks), and installation (1 day). Your kitchen is only disrupted for the installation day. We disconnect and reconnect sinks, cooktops, and make all necessary plumbing connections.
Should I replace countertops or cabinets first?
Always replace cabinets first if doing both. Countertops are custom-templated to fit your cabinets precisely. If you replace countertops first and then change cabinets, you'll need new countertops again. If only doing countertops, we can work with your existing cabinets.
